002.11 | A large Ship Building Yard being the yard in which the first Steam boat, named the Comet, in Britain was built. The property of John Wood Esqr. This Yard is considerably enlarged to the seaward, owing to the bank called the Perch, which occurs upon Trace 1 of II.11 No.10 being at present a removing by the "River Trust" and an agreement made betwixt Mr Wood and the Said Trust to deposit as much of the bank as possible on the strand or fore shore of Mr Woods property see extent on traces 2,3,5 & 6. This work is not yet complete but the foundation of it is laid as shown on the above traces. It is also contemplated by the River Trust if the can come to any agreement with the adjoining proprietors to fill the whole strand up on the West side and in a line with this as far as Mr Reid's Ship Building Yard. |
