It is situated near to the South of the Old Castle hence the name.

William McLellan Esqr		 050 [Situation] On the East side of High St. & on the W [West] side of the town of Kirkcudbright. A house two Stories high slated and in good repair, it is presently used as a branch office of the Western Bank of Scotland.
