A short narrow street branching of the west end of High Street & joining the West end of South Street. in the village of Elie. it is in good repair and is bounded on both sides bt a row of houses two storys high all in good repair and occupied by shopkeepers and tradesmen. formerly there was a soapwork in this street, hence the name.
