See list of antiquities, in which it is stated that at one time
several large upright stones were upon the top of
Boath Hill. These stones were believed to have been a
druidical temple, and were called the Kemple
or Temple stones - See New Stat. Acct [Statistical Account]

Mr Kydd, occupier of Back Boath, whose father also lived on the
farm, knows nothing respecting the stones referred to above.
He says if any stones were on the hill, such as those mentioned
above, his father must have recovered them when cultivating
the land. He knows nothing about them; nor could get
any information respecting them from any parties living
in the neighbourhood, of whom enquiry was
made.
