036 | A ford crossing a stream called Kildonnan Burn at the west side of Kildonan Hill. It is said the ford took its name from a Stone house being near it at a period when very few Stone buildings were in existance in the Country, and that this stone house was probably an old KirK which it is said Stood about 5½ chains North of it. or some other house connected therewith. no trace of any of these old buildings can now be found tho' [though] there are several modern built houses quite near it. |
