016 [Situation] In the East side of the Parish of Port Patrick. About 1 3/8 miles W by S. [West by South from the village of Lochans
A high hill or mountain of considerable Size whose Summit Commands an extensive view of the Surrounding district a considerable extent of the Coast of Ireland can be seen of a clear day with the naked eye also the hills of Cumberland and the highlands And the summit is a track of 2 circular walls which appears to have been once a place of Strenght the Surface of the mountain is Rocky Heathy pasture. on its Summit is a Trig [Trigonometrical] Station. 016 [situation] On the Top of Cairn Piot
On its summit is a Trigl [Trigonometrical] Station called by Trigl [Trigonometrical] Party "Cairn Point"
[Note] "Around the Summit of the hill of Cairnpat at the distance of about 70 & 80 yards the ruins of two Circular Stone walls may be Seen which of late years have been greatly reduced for the Sake of the stones to be used in erecting fences in the neighbouring farms" Statistical Acct.
