016 A large tract of high Land the soil of which is Rocky heathy Pasture. On the Summit of which there is. the Ruins of An Ancient Cairn. of A circular Shape. Dafended by Five Walls. Parallel to each other & about 70 links apart. These fences has evidently been erected as A Fortification or place of Strength. & is thought to have been Built by the Ancient Picts. There Circular fences ar still quite visible. Although All the New fences near its Neighbourhood & Some houses has been built of the Stones taken therefrom. Cairn Piot or Cairn Pat. Its on A farm of that Name. & on the Cairn there Stands A Trigl. [Trigonometrical] Station Call'd by theTrigl. [Trigonometrical] Party Cairn Point. There is A very extensive view of the Surrounding Cuntery & the North Coast of Ireland. The Farm of Cairn Piot is the Property of Thomas Hunter Blair Esqr. Dunskey
