On the West Side is a Steep declivity reaching to the Water's edge there has been considerable Slips of earth
at this point and for about 10 Chains Northward from the encroachments of the Sea And as the base of the Moat Stands only about 40 feet from the top of the precipice it is not improbable but part of it may go before long. There is a ◬ [ Trigonometrical Station] on it Called Innermessan Moat it is Situate Near the Ancient City of Innermessan the property of the Earl of Stair.
