A small field N.W. [North West] of the town of Bathgate on the W. [West] side of Bathgate Water it is partly covered with furze an here the fairs are held for the Sale of Cattle &c. It is not a common but by some arrangement the town holds the right of Keeping its fairs on it - It is the property of Mr. Fleming of Woodhead - See further Description for town of Bathgate.
