028.09 This is the Established or Parish Church of Campsie. It is a stone building having a tower Steeple with a clock face on each side except that adjoining the other or main part of the building. The Steeple is on the south side of the Church. There are Sittings here for 1,550 Incumbent Revd. [Reverend] Thomas Monro. - There is a Burying Ground around the Church, & there is also a Burying Ground where the remains of the old Church of the Ph. [Parish] stand in the "Clachan of Campsie". (Trace 5. 27-8)
