027.12 | This Name applies to the whole of the rising ground which rises abruptly from the Pow Burn in the north (Plans 11 & 12), by a steep & wooded embankment, close to Lennox Castle, and afterwards gradually ascends to a great altitude southwards, the top of which is shewn by a yellow shade on the Examination Traces. Its descent on the east & west is gradual, and the southern descent is also tolerably gradual, extending this side as far as "Newlands" & "West Muirhead" (Plan 16) & sweeping round to the east as far as the "Glazert" about "W.
