007.02 This place is now in ruins, it is the remains of the ancestral stronghold of the now noble family of Murray. It is supposed to have been in it's prime about the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century, about the latter time, according to tradition, it was inhabited by Sir Gideon Murray, ancestor of the present Lord Elibank, who had a family of marriageable but illfavored daughters. And Sir Gideon having got Young Willie Scott the Laird of Harden into his power, forced him to purchase his life by marrying one of them.
