order at the rear, the whole mainly en-
closed with plantation. The farm attached is partly arable, but mostly pasture, and is the property of the Duke of Buccleuch.

formed by the Lewinshope Burn and
Yarrow Water, and round the southern
base of which, the Road from Yarrow
to Selkirk, winds, it is a fine green
hill on the North & East Slopes, but
the South & West are abrupt & rocky &
the S. [South] is covered with natural wood -
On the E. [East] Slope of this hill formerly
stood the Old farm house of Tinnis.
