010.14 A considerable precipice on the north bank of Yarrow Water a little to the east of Craig Douglas, it has evidently been abraded by the force of the river untill now it forms a cliff somewhere about 60 feet perpendicular, overhanging the stream, it consists of Boulders or water-worn stones and hard yellow clay. No rock being visible in any part of it above the Scar on both sides of the road is a small extent of peat moss. but of some considerable depth.
