099 This name applies to a farmhouse and outbuildings situate about 40 chains N.W. [North West] of Bellevue. The house is of 2 Storeys in height, built of stone and slated, as also are the outbuildings, it is the property of the Rt Hon [Right Honourable] H. J. Baillie of Redcastle.

099 Immediately to the west of the above farm is a small building now used as a burying place by the MacKenzies & Gillanders of Newmore, this was originally a chapel but to what denomination it belonged Cannot be ascertained, but it is well Known that in 1603 the MacDonalds of Glengarry in a foray caught a number of the McKenzies in this chapel and burnt the roof over their heads. It is only 2 years since it was restored and used for the purpose described. The date of its first erection cannot be obtained.
