"The largest spring in the ph [parish]" is that "Aboon the Brae" wh [which] issues from the Solid rock, discharging no less than 42 imperial gallons every minute, 2520 in the hour, 60,480 a day. It is the chief spring which supplies the Waterside Bleachfield". The name "Lady's Well" is generally known
