006.06 A broad stream or river rising in Innerkip Parish, enters this a short distance north of Garshangan flows through an extensive Valley in a South-easterly direction, enters Houston Parish near "Craigbet", then in an Easterly course through "Bridge of Weir" and "Crossley", from "Crossley" in a N.E [North East] Eastrely course to its Junction with the "River Clyde" between the Parishes of Inchinnan and Renfrew. From its source to where it is joined by the "Green Water", it is called "Gryffe Water", and from this junction to its influx with the "River Clyde" it is popularly known as the "River Gryffe".
