002.01 A large building 3 Storeys high Surmounted by a spire having a good clock and bell. It was erected at the expense of the town. That portion of the 2nd and top flat above the Treasurer's Office and Council Chambers is appropriated as the Jail & Police Office, beside the Treasurer's Office and Council Chambers there are the Town Treasurers Office a tolerably large Coffee Room, Magnetic Telegraph Office, and a small Library etc. Part of the ground flat fronting Fore St and Dockhead Street is Occupied by Shops.
