064 A plain oblong built edifice, being the parish church, the walls of which the Rev. Dr. [Reverend Doctor] Barty believes to be very old from the fact of a monumental stone being in in the back wall (inside) of the church to N. Campbell who died in 1587. "Another in the west passage to D. Campbell (the inscription on which will soon be obliterated) There are 2 other stones on the wall of the church (inside) one to Dr. [Doctor] Leslie who died 1605 & the other J. Cummin dated 1606."
