071 A rough portion of the Sea off the north end of the Mull of Papa about 2 1/2 miles north east from the Established Church. When a Strong north west wind is blowing the Sea here through the meeting of opposite tides lashed into great fury and no vessel afloat would Stand for a moment in its midst, yet the hardy Islanders can be Seen prosecuting the fishing in Small boats at times when its appearance Seems threatening enough to Landsmen. At the proper Season great quantities of Coal Fish Cod and Ling are caught here.
