[Esquire] Vetquoy Mr. George Spence, Garricot 094 On the South side of the "Bay of Skaill" and 15 "Chains west by north from the "House of Skaill are the ruins of a Picts House known by the name of Skorra??? within the walls are to be seen large Slabs of Stone, placed on edge in a regular form, but for what purpose they were used, It is doubtful to say, there are also connected with the building under ground passages which are said to be places of security, the late, W. W. Watt Esq [Esquire] Kierfiold on several occasions found articals within the building and considered them to be of great antiquity; which at present are in the 'House of Skaill'
