"The chief object of interest to the antiquarian" (in Viera) "is the ancient ruin called "the Castle of Cubbarrow" supposed to have been erected more than 700 years ago." - Orkney & Shetland Guide 1877.

090 This is an ancient building situate in graveyard, about 8 chains east of "Castle of Cubbierow" it is said to have been erected for Roman Catholic purposes but at what date does not seem to be really known. The graveyard is still in use.
