Doctor Robertson and Mr Hutchison present historians of Leith says that this mound or Battery was thrown up under the superintendence of an officer in the English army, whose name was Pelham, in the year 1560, but about 50 years ago it got the name of Lady Fifes Brae, from the circumstance of that Lady living near to it, etc. |
