A Parish of irregular form, on the Southern Shore of the Firth of Forth, which Comprehends the districts of Trinity & Wardie, the village of Newhaven, and the Eastern Suburb of the town of Leith. Its extreme length is one and a half miles, and its extreme breadth is about one mile. It was erected into a Parish by act of Parliament in 1609. The Parishioners are the Patrons, and the funds and Management are vested in the Kirk Session. Population in 1841, 8492. |
