Ancient Camp or Forts are Sometimes Called "Rings" in different
localities of Scotland and although the above Camp or Fort is Called
"Roman Rings", yet from its Shape which appears to have been Circular
or Oval, may be inferred to have been a British "Camp" or "Hill Fort".
Captn [Captain] James R.E. [Royal Engineer] who examined it on the ground is of this opinion.
