MURIESTON CASTLE (Remains of) | Murieston Castle | Mr Crawford, Murieston M. [Mid] Calder Robert Crawford, Westfield Mid Calder John Wallace, Mid Calder |
010 | This building appears to be a small part of an edifice which stands, about, 20 feet in height, and without a roof. About 30 years ago the late Mr Ker who was the proprietor repaired and rebuilt part of this structure, it is now in a good state of preservation and it is supposed to have been a fortified place, but there is no well founded tradition respecting it. There is a small farm house and offices beside it (Murieston Castle) which is at present unoccupied but in good repair, they are the property of the heirs of the late Mr Kerr |
