[Note to writer of page by AMO afterwards scored out]Catch drain - or Catch Water - is usually applied to open drains on the sides of sloping ground, to catch the water and throw it into the reservoir-"Catch Drain" is seldom applied to a waste pipe- A.M.O.
As this reservoir is liable to have sometimes a superfluous supply of water in rainy seasons, a covered drain or aque-duct conveys the superfluous water into two small streams which rises near the place. This covered drain is called Catch Drain by the Corpor[ation]
