BRAID BURN Braid Burn Thomas Torrence John Wallace Knox's Co.[County] Map 006 A stream which rises in a part of the Pentland Hills, partly from the pools of Bonally and running N.[North] easterly through Braids Glen between Braid Hills and Blackford Hills and after receiving the Jordan Burn near Duddingston Loch continues its course circuitously runs into the Firth of Forth near Portobello.
PEFFERMILL BRIDGE Peffermill Bridge Peter Thomson Peffermill Charles Stewart Common Mire 006 A small stone bridge of one arch crossing Braid Burn and on the Public Road leading to Niddry. Built by the road Trustees & is therefore a County bridge.
