005 | [Situation] In the village of Currie. A very old Bridge, Situated in the village of Currie over the Water of Leith. It is of a semicircular form narrow on the Top, and very strongly built, The given authorities and others in the neighbourhood always heard, it was built by the Picts, It consists of one Arch. Others say this bridge was built by the Romans. There is a tradition in the neighbourhood that Currie Bridge was built by the Picts - It is usual with the Country people to attribute objects (to which they cannot assign date from their great antiquity to the Picts.
