ERD HOUSE [Knock Ullinish] Ground House Mr. McDonald, Keeper 028 Near the base and on the east side of the above Knoll, there is to be seen an underground house, the entrance to it is only sufficiently large enough to allow a person stooping to get in, the walls are built of stone & it is also roofed with stone. Boswell in his Tour describes it as being a subterraneous house about 40 ft. long, but at present it can only be penetrated about 10 feet, owing to part of the roof having fallen in. (It is suppose to be very ancient).
KNOCK ULLINISH Knock Ullinish Mr. McDonald, Keeper 028 A small hill or Knoll situate adjacent to the road leading to Ullinish, and about ¾ of a mile in a North East direction from that house.
SULA SKERRY Sula Skerry Mr. McDonald, Keeper 028 Is applied to two high water rocks situated adjacent to the coast line about ½ mile west from Ullinish.
