The parish church of Denino is a small Gothic edifice, with belfry at the West end, it has a gallery and is seated for about 230, the whole is in good repair; the average number of attendants is about 200, the number of communicants is 145. The patron the United College of St. Andrews has the first choice of the seats, the minister the next, and the heritors according to their valued rent. the schoolmaster has a pew. the rest of the seats are divided proportionally among the farmers and their dependents. It was built in 1826 on the site of the old church, there is no date for the old church. It is surrounded by a graveyard in which there is nothing remarkable, it is situated in about the centre of the parish. Revd. [Reverend] John Burns is the present minister, his stipend is 54 bolls 1 firlot 1 peck of meal, 57 bolls 2 firlots 3 pecks 2 lippies of bear, 4 bolls 3 firlots 3 pecks 1 lippie of Oats and £97.19.3 in money.
