A large tract of Moor extending from the Eden River to the Tay along the coast. It is for the greater part Covered with heath And Furze And affords in general pretty good pasturage for Sheep, and is inhabited by an innumerable multitude of Rabbits. It is said to have derived its name from the Danes pitching their tents on it at the time of their Invasion of Scotland. The Moor is the property of Colonel Long. |
