[situation] Extends from North side of Forge Wynd to Burnside. A mound of earth apparently artificial extending from the North West end of the Town of Cupar to near Moathill Cottage. It was on this hight the Judges or Majestrates met in olden times to settle and otherwise arrange, all local feuds and disputes; it was unquestionably erected at some remote period to fortify the Northern side of the Town, but no local information can be found to substantiate it. This mound Continues in a ridgelike form till it terminates in Castle Hill. |
