The site of a gate which formerly crossed the end of St Catherine Street near or at its junction with Cross St. in the Town of Cupar. It was a part of the fortifications by which the town was formerly Surrounded. it was constructed as a means of in - and - egress; to the Town. its site only now remains.

The Site of a Port or entrance Across the river Eden, and leading into the town of Cupar. It [consisted] of two gates situated at the extreme ends of the South Bridge both gates being Situated at both sides of the water and were a part of the fortifications by which the Town was Surrounded having been constructed as a means of in - and egress to the Town.
