may not be very ancient
Perhaps you can learn
Some information from
the minister or others
in the neighbourhood
that will lead us to
determine the proper
character to write the
name. This is required
as soon as possible

Plain stone building in the
unornamental Style of
Architecture the windows
being of An oblong shape
thus [diagram] with Slabs of
Wood laid flatly across
the top. - In the graveyd [yard]
which Surrounds it the oldest
Headstone is of the date
1677 - possibly about this
period May be the date of its
erection. The Ph. [Parish] minister the Revd [Reverend]
Mr Majoribanks thinks it of An
older date but Cannot
Say how much As there are no
records that ever even he has Seen
to Show Anything of it-
And nothing beyond Mere
Conjecture can be learned of
it in the locality
