your decision.

Was there a parish church
in ancient times separate from
the Church of the Minorite
Friars?

Was the church of the minor-
-ite Friars (partly now in ruins)
called St Mary's Church?

Was the monastery dedicated
to the Virgin Mary, or what
was the dedicatory name?

I would here beg leave
to refer you to Miller's Hist. [History]
of Haddington pages 377 &
392, Edit. [Edition] Haddington 1844,
where there is seemingly a
Contradiction Concerning the
name of the parish Church.

Whether is the parish
Church or the old church
of the Minorite Friars called
St. Mary's Church?

What name do you re-
Commend to be written to each
of these churches on ordnance
Plan?

In what part of the
town was the remainder of the
monastery of the Minorites

[right hand side of page]

I think there is every reason
to to believe that the present
parish church is part of the
ancient church of the Francis-
can or Minorite Friars.

If I am correct in the former
answer it was so.

There was a church of St Mary
in Haddington to which I en=
trust charter teinds as gran=
ted and which again was
granted to the Priory of St Andrews
and that that was the church
of a [monestry] appears from
articles of agreement between
the [Minister] of St Andrews and
the [Minister] of Haddington.
