203.04 immediately at the N.E. [North East] base [of Knocknavanan], the Estate map shows the site of a "Chapel" respecting which the inhabitants of the locality are silent farther than the name of the farm "Kildavanan" is suggestive of a Chapel or grave yard: William Lyon, the Farmer who was brought up on the farm, and his father before him, says that he never saw any evidence of a Chapel on the ground, but a number of years ago when quarrying stone for building purposes, he dug up a small Stone cist, on or about the same place as the chapel is shown on trace.
