018 A Plain but Substantial Bridge of one Arch, Spanning the Kilmarnock Water, and Situated in St. Marnock Street, from which it takes its name, Was built at the expense of the Duke of Portland for the purpose of facilitating the feuing or letting of his Property for building Purposes, but as St. Marnock Street now joins a Portion of the TurnpiKe Road between Kilmarnock and Irvine, the Bridge in question becomes a County Bridge to all intents and purposes.
