212 | About a mile north east of Ardpatrick House between the shore and the public road, near the place marked with cross on trace 13 said by the authorities quoted to have been a place of burial. In the course of procurring gravel for the repairs of the road a great many bones were turned out, but whether it has been the scene of a battle or otherwise is now uncertain. The authority Mr McFarlane who is upwards of 70 years of age says that the only case of burial which he ever heard of was that of the body of an illegitimate child, but even that is far beyond his recollection. |
