I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid Do hereby certify That upon carefull examination of
the foregoing Duties I find they amount in whole to Two hundred and eighty three
pounds eight shillings sterling And that upon the ____ day of _____ 1798 I delivered
to Messrs. Alexander Gardyne and John Burnett joint Collectors of the said duties for the
shire aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the above Account duly examined and
compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath That Notices were left
with the whole foregoing Inhabitants or at their dwelling places of the respective
[Rates] aforesaid Requiring them within fourteen days to give in Lists of the
farm horses employed by them from 5 April 1796 to 5 April 1797 And that
the foregoing Survey was made out from the Lists returned to me and from
the best information I could procure of the horses of those whose (whose) Lists
were deficient or who neglected or refused to return Lists in terms of the
Notices of requisition left with them as aforesaid William Greig Surveyor

Transcriber's notes

I'm surprised to find "from 5 April 1796 to 5 April 1797" in the Surveyor's certification, when it appears that the foregoing information related to 1797 to 1798?

Also, The left margin of the certification was a bit difficult, and I typed a ? in one place where I could not decipher a partial word.
