A Survey of the Rates and Duties on four Wheeled Carriages arisen in the Burgh of Bervie for one
year commencing the 5th April 1797 & ending the fifth day of April 1798 by William Greig Surveyor


I William Greig Surveyor aforesaid Do hereby Certify that upon carefull examination of
the foregoing rates and duties I find they amount to Fourteen pounds sterling and
twenty per cent thereon And that upon the -- day of April 1798 I delivered to
-- Collector of the Cess and of the said duties for the
Burgh aforesaid an exact Duplicate of the above Account duly examined and
compared with the foregoing which contained my Oath. That a notice was left with
the above named James Wynnass requiring him within fourteen days to give in a List
of the Carriages kept by him for hire from 5th April 1796 to 5 April 1797 And
that the above charge against him was made from the List returned to me
agreeable to the said Notice of requisition -
