News and workshops

Join us for training

If you would like to get involved with the project but need some help and guidance in transcribing documents and using our system, we are holding a series of talks and workshops across the country.

Talks are in the form of public lectures, usually taking place in the evening, lasting around 45 minutes. All are welcome.

Workshops are more focussed training sessions, with hands-on experience in working with the records and the online system, lasting around 2 hours. Please use the contact details on the event information to register for a workshop session. Alternatively, drop an email to the Outreach Officer for further details.

Attending a workshop or talk will give you the opportunity to meet other volunteer transcribers face to face, and use these contacts in the online groups and forums for help and assistance when you do your online transcription.

Attending a workshop or talk will also allow you to sign-up to the transcription system as a volunteer, committing to working on the transcripts, and enabling you free access to the subscription based resources.
