PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO 62: THE BANFF ALBUM Album of amateur snapshots bound in bottle green cloth with gilt inscription Insc: (front cover) 'Photographs', no personal inscription, compiler unknown. Buildings and topography of Perthshire, Banffshire and Eigg, taken on three holiday tours in 1908, 1909 and 1913. Many views are dated and accompanied by short inscriptions. Other photographs show an elephant being led through the streets at Ballinluig; the cottage where Alexander Mackenzie, Premier of Canada was born at Logierait, and there are views of Grandtully, Castle Menzies, Dull, Weem, Fortingall and Kenmore; Hog Hill at Loch Tay where Dr. Macdonald preached during the revival; Lady of Lawers Church; Croft Moraig; the well at Fincastle and Glen Tilt Hotel. Also shown are St John's Church, Gamrie More; Low Shore, Banff; Findlater Castle; and MacDuff Harbour, 1909 with fishing boats including BF130; Cleadale and a picture of a boy using a foot plough. PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO.121: OTC and Other Camps Blue cloth covered album with hard covers containing 24 board pages, titled on front in gold: 'Photographs' and labelled inside back cover: 'The Morland Album No S9210, Johnsons, London' Contains small, clear snapshots taken between 1922 - 1930 in Scotland, many of Glasgow University OTC camps, at, for example, Barry Buddon, Loch Tay and Port Patrick, and several of holiday camping and houses. Includes Dalkenneth House 1922; Brycedale, Bridge of Allan; SS "Glencoe" coming in to Portree 1923; Stanley House boys 1924; wreck of salvaged German destroyer from Scapa Flow at Troon Harbour; Littleport Farm, St Fillans 1926; the car "Boanerges" reg. no. ES 3743 at Loch Earn side 1926; E Bruce as high Constable of Holyrood, October 1924; Betty Bruce; Nigel on Ariel, Rectory garden, Bridge of Allan; Miss Nance Galt; NJH MacCulloch and A Service. There is also a view of an old grave on the south side of Loch Earn inscribed "Near this spot are interred the bodies of seven MacDonalds of Glencoe killed while attempting to harry Ardvorlich."
