025.09 ; 025.13 ; 031.01 A considerable Stream which is formed by the combined waters of West Quarter Burn & Polmont Burn near Beancross, and after a sluggish course of about 2 miles flows into the River Carron. The principal part of this stream has been diverted from its original course to make room for the construction of the Canal and Docks at Grangemouth, its original course was very sinous, but the artificial channel through which it now runs is nearly straight. It formed the boundary between the parishes of Polmont & Falkirk previous to its waters being directed through a new channel, its old course is now taken for the boundary.
