012.16 Stone thus [see drawing] about 3½ feet in length and abt [about] 2 feet wide and about a foot in thickness, and on the face is a square or right angular cutting abt [about] 7" by 5" and abt. [about] 3' deep upon the face of the stone and was standing where pointed out by Mr A. Millton Crofter till some few years ago when it was removed and is now to be seen lying upon a Bank abt [about] 2 Ch [Chains] north. The stone was looked upon as an antiquity and it seems doubt[ful] how long it stood in the previous position - nor is there much known concerning it -
