022.08 This was a huge cairn, on the farm of Backhill of Drachlaw, Supposed to have been Druidical. and Said to have contained upwards of a thousand tons of stones - all of which have, with the exception of the "Caerlin Stone", been removed and used in building walls &c on the adjoining farms: A portion of a gold chain, and a gold ring were found in the cairn.

022.08 A huge mass of rock, about eight feet high and between six and eight feet broad, Standing on the South east edge of "Cairn Riv" - and said to be one of a large Druidical circle, which was about 36 yards in diameter, All the stones, except the "Caerlin Stone", have been broken, and removed - Carlin is the modern mode of spelling this name.
